The exact briar grain in the photos will not match the pipe you purchase. Each pipe has their own unique grain. The Algonquin series from Brigham is an entry level option from their core line of pipes. The medium brown finish highlights the grain while a nice polish delivers a glossy finish.Brigham uses a dot rating system to rank the quality of their pipes, with the Algonquin finish being a 2 dot. The 2 dots on the side of the stem reflect that ranking. The Algonquin is currently made in Italy and they are a great choice for someone who is price conscious but still wants a well finished pipe with some of the detailing you can expect on a more expensive option. They are known for their proprietary Maple Rock wood filter that goes inside the stem and reduces or eliminates tongue bite for the smoker without constricting flow. With a history dating back to 1906, Brigham is a Canadian institution and staple in the pipe scene. Still based in Toronto after over a century, Brigham continues to anchor Canadian pipe smoking culture.
